Jack Harrison has completed a season-long loan move to Everton from Leeds United and the transfer has garnered criticism from sections of the club’s fanbase – but David Prutton has told the YEP he deserved the right to move on.
Harrison, 26, leaves Leeds after five years at the club – the first three of which were on loan from Manchester City. He played 206 times for Leeds, key in promotion to the Premier League – ending with stats of 66 goals and assists.
He returns to the Premier League and links up with Everton, a club that have been in the thick of relegation battles with us over the last two years. Sky Sports say there is no permanent clause, but a release clause can be invoked.

Writing in his YEP column, ex-Leeds midfielder Prutton gave his verdict on Harrison moving to Everton. He says that while others have left after getting Leeds into the mess we find ourselves in – Harrison has earned the right to go.
“There’s occasions where you see players valiant in defeat and you kind of wish them well. Of the players that have left, I think Jack Harrison is possibly one of the only ones who that applies to,” Prutton wrote in his latest column.
“He was as much of a part of getting Leeds back into the Premier League as anyone. Really proved himself coming back into English football. Kudos to him and there’s also the fact that he was out the door at Leicester in January.”

David Prutton: Jack Harrison deserved right to leave Leeds for Everton
He probably did. While Harrison has had his critics over the years, there are not many players to have improved as much as the left-winger. He first joined as a bog-standard, slightly weak Championship winger. Scored the odd goal.
But the Premier League got the best out of him. Some magic moments – that goal in the 5-2 win over Newcastle. His hat-trick away at West Ham and plenty more. He is a Premier League player and has shown he deserves to be there.
