Following Sunday’s defeat to Portsmouth, Leeds United fans are calling for changes ahead of Wednesday night’s clash against rivals Millwall and Aidy White has suggested one he would make.

Typically, the moment Leeds United find themselves in a bit of turmoil within the race for promotion to the Premier League, along come a side that Leeds have lost to on two occasions this season already.

Millwall travel north to Yorkshire to face Leeds at Elland Road but The Whites will be desperate to get back to winning ways while also exacting revenge on Millwall, who beat Leeds in the league and FA Cup.

Fans want change going into the game, with many pointing blame at Daniel Farke for his team selection on Sunday. Aidy White has now suggested one change that he would make, if he was in Farke’s shoes.

Aidy White wants first league start of 2025 for Leeds attacker

It is fair to say that Manor Solomon’s form has dipped in the last four games. After a run of four goals and four assists in seven games for Leeds, the Israel star has failed to lay on a goal or assist in the last four.

He should have had an assist for Joel Piroe on Sunday, but the Dutchman blazed his second golden chance over the bar. However, White feels Wilfried Gnonto should be given his first league start of 2025.

“Yes, I would bring Gnonto in on the left wing. I think Solomon has been tremendous this season, it feels like he’s had a slight dip in form in the last two or three games,” White told BBC Radio Leeds on Sunday.

“Gnonto has looked lively when he’s come on so I’d bring him in. He’s phenomenal, he’s unpredictable, good and bad, and it’s that time to have a little swap,” White added, even if Gnonto is better off the right.

What other changes could Daniel Farke make vs Millwall?

One change is already pretty nailed on and that will be the return of Joe Rothwell in the middle of the park, replacing Ilia Gruev. The Bulgarian often starts away from home but was largely ineffective.

Rothwell immediately added more vigour and attacking prowess on Sunday and is often given starts at home. That will see Rothwell come in, while there may be a decision to be made on Brenden Aaronson.

The USA star has struggled of late, with Aaronson managing just 20 touches against Portsmouth. He has started 34 Championship games in a row and Farke may decide the time is now to try something new.
