Georginio Rutter is in the form of his life this season after a tricky start to life at Leeds United and Cree Summerville has branded himself delighted to see the French attacker shining, this season.
Summerville and Rutter have combined to perfection this season, starring in the final third for Leeds during 2023-24. Rutter’s ability to create chances has allowed Summerville to score goal after goal.
It comes after Rutter was signed in January from Hoffenheim, struggling for confidence, game time, and the chance to prove his transfer fee. Unable to speak English, the striker needed a break at Elland Road.
He got that, in the event of Leeds being relegated. It has seen Rutter become first choice, absolutely key to Daniel Farke‘s side. Summerville spoke to Leeds’ official podcast prior to tonight’s trip to Sunderland.
Summerville spoke of how delighted he has been to see Rutter rediscover his best form and said that he has even been teasing him over his lack of goals at Elland Road – prior to the 3-1 win over Swansea City.
“We told him, he doesn’t like to score at home – only scores away. I’m buzzing for him this season, very happy. He’s in a good place as well, his confidence is back. He’s just enjoying it again, I like to see that.”

Summerville has been magnificent, as has Rutter. The duo’s relationship is helping each other, getting the best out of each other. Even the competition to score the most goals is making them play their best.
If these players continue their wonderful form then surely, the gap between Leeds and the top two is only going to reduce. It remains seven points between Leeds and Ipswich, and eight behind Leicester.
