Crysencio Summerville has told LUTV that Leeds United attacker Georginio Rutter tells him before every match that if he is going to provide the assists – then the Dutchman better score, as he did on Saturday.
Leeds came from two goals down to win 2-0 at Carrow Road as Daniel Farke returned to his old club as a manager for the first time. A Shane Duffy own goal was followed by a Summerville brace, to win 3-2.
A gorgeous curling effort came after a short corner in which Willy Gnonto laid the ball to Summerville. Then, Leeds countered with just minutes left to go during Saturday’s incredibly exciting encounter.
A Norwich free-kick was headed away by Leeds and picked up by Rutter, who played a left-footed pass into the path of the on-rushing Summerville – perfectly weighted. It allowed the counter to continue.
With momentum, Summerville charged at the back-peddling Norwich defence. Jaidon Anthony’s run allowed the Dutchman to cut inside and find the corner. He shared what Rutter tells him before games.
“He [Rutter] always says to me before the game that if he gives me the assist, I have to score. I am happy with that goal, so thanks to Georginio,” Summerville told LUTV, following the win over Norwich.

Rutter continued his brilliant form at Norwich. Not only does he have two goals to his own name this season, but he – perhaps more importantly – is showing a creative side. He now has four Leeds assists.
It is a system that is working well. Rutter might be our no.9 right now, but his ability to drop deep and sense space – before supplying the perfect ammunition for his teammates is proving very important.
A brilliant win that takes Leeds to third place in the Championship table, three wins in a row – and five wins from the last seven. Leeds are already catching the top two in the form of Leicester and Ipswich.
