Saturday afternoon saw the race for automatic promotion from the Championship take more twists and turns and resulted with Burnley leading the battle, and Leeds United falling into third.
Leeds and Burnley were both in action at lunchtime while Sheffield United went to Oxford United for a 3pm kick-off. Scott Parker’s men came from behind to fortuitously beat Frank Lampard’s Coventry City.
A blow for the Sky Blues in their play-off push, as goalkeeper Bradley Collins and former Leeds man Liam Kitching were guilty of a monumental defensive mix-up that allowed Jaidon Anthony to score a second.
On loan at Leeds last season, Anthony scored both goals for Burnley in a 2-1 win to send Parker’s men top of the table. Leeds drew and Sheffield United lost, meaning Leeds are now in third on 82 points.

Karl Darlow posts on Instagram after starting first league game
A first league start of the season came in the 40th round of Championship fixtures for Wales’ no.1 Karl Darlow on Saturday. Solid, with Darlow unable to do anything about Isaiah Jones’ opener for Luton.
It was only his eighth outing for Leeds in almost two years, with Daniel Farke opting to replace Illan Meslier between the sticks. Darlow took to Instagram following the 1-1 draw at Luton, delighted to play.
He said: “Loved being back out there for Leeds United. Thanks for your away support.”
Connor Roberts sends message to Leeds man Karl Darlow
A former teammate of Darlow’s at Leeds during the second half of last season and now an international teammate with Wales, Roberts sent a message to Darlow after Burnley had overtaken Leeds on Saturday.
Putting aside from the rivalry of the automatic promotion battle, Roberts declared himself delighted to see Darlow playing again for Leeds. The veteran is expected to play the remaining six league matches.

Roberts said: “So nice to see Darlito”. Up next for Darlow and Leeds is Middlesbrough away on Tuesday night, while Sheffield United host Millwall and Burnley go to an in-form Derby under John Eustace.
