Belgian outlet Voetbal Nieuws claim Anderlecht may have to sell a number of players this summer including winger Francis Amuzu after they failed to qualify for European football – with Leeds one of three clubs linked with a move.
Amuzu, 23, has been a mainstay in Anderlecht’s side over the past few years. Clocking up north of 200 games, the Ghana-born Belgium U21 regular has had a hand in 48 goals – in his 202 games. Interest in him is hardly a surprise.
Belgian journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen reported that Leeds were among the clubs considering a move for Amuzu. But, so are newly-promoted Premier League side Luton Town – and French club OGC Nice. He has a contract until 2025.
Now, the new report claims Amuzu is likely to be a player Anderlecht are forced into selling this summer, given the club failed to qualify for European football. Anderlecht finished in a dismal 11th place in the 18-club Jupiler League.

Leeds do have options out wide. Currently, seven first-team options on the books. Jack Harrison, Willy Gnonto, Cree Summerville and Luis Sinisterra remain – while Helder Costa, Ian Poveda and Dan James all return from loan spells.
But Harrison and Gnonto are more than likely to go. Summerville and Sinisterra look as though they could stay, and the former could be used as a no.10 – as he was against Hearts. Poveda and James look like they will also remain.
Poveda has been the big winner of pre-season, and he will surely remain at Elland Road as a fringe player. So, do we need another winger? You would argue that given Poveda’s improved form, probably not. Amuzu is a talent, though.
