Sam Curtis has emerged as a target for Leeds United ahead of the January transfer window, and his club are now expecting to sell the young defender – and are planning for life without the Irish talent.
Curtis, who turned 18 earlier this month, has thrown himself onto the radar of clubs such as Leeds and Celtic after starring for St. Pat’s during the 2023 campaign. He clocked up 39 senior games this season.
With the Irish season now over, the Ireland U21 star is now expected to be on the move. A player that has been described as “unbelievable” by his teammate Tom Grivosti. Leeds and Celtic are interested.
As are clubs like Tottenham and Liverpool. Recently, he even took on Willy Gnonto during a 2-2 draw between Italy’s U21’s and Ireland. A game in which Gnonto scored twice, after being demoted by Italy.
The Irish Independent now claim that Curtis is ‘expected’ to go with St. Pat’s planning for life without the youngster, come January. It may open the door for the likes of Leeds and other clubs to make a move.

Curtis is a top, top talent. A player with 60 games under his belt already, before turning the age of 18. He could be a real addition to Daniel Farke’s side, perhaps not straight away but certainly, in the future.
Is Leeds his best move? Well, given he has already been a regular at senior level, he needs to join a side where there is a realistic path into the first team. A move to one of England’s best sides may not suit.
But a move to Leeds, where Sam Byram, Luke Ayling, Jamie Shackleton and Stuart Dallas all see their contracts expire in June – and Djed Spence is only on loan – may give him the opportunity to break in.
