Chris Sutton has told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club that Leeds United fans will be left “grumbling” unless Javi Gracia makes two changes to his starting line-up to face Leicester – involving Illan Meslier and Willy Gnonto.

Leeds go into Tuesday night’s clash against Leicester after three straight defeats, conceding 11 goals in that time. The Whites could not prevent Fulham from winning 2-1, with Meslier at fault for both goals – flapping at crosses.

Joe Cole believes Leeds should drop Meslier and bring in Joel Robles on Tuesday night, at home to Leicester. Now, Sutton has agreed – believing that Meslier should be axed, or it will leave fans annoyed. He also discussed Gnonto.

He believes that Gracia has got to drop Meslier and bring in Gnonto – if he is to keep fans on side against the Foxes. It means that Robles would come in for Meslier – while Gracia has a decision to make on who to drop for Gnonto.

“The goalkeeper’s not playing well, Gracia’s under pressure to make a decision, whether he should bring Robles in. Gnonto, who I think we’d all agree is one of Leeds most talented players, for whatever reason, can’t get a game.

“So, what does this mean? It means that there’ll be grumbling within the stadium if Gnonto isn’t playing, if Meslier starts, and this will put more pressure on the players on the pitch and the manager,” Sutton said on the MNC.

It might be time that Meslier is taken out of the firing line. Leeds were pretty solid in Saturday at Fulham until Meslier made his mistakes. Gnonto – well, it is bewildering that the Italy star is not being given a chance in the starting XI.

Simply, Leeds have to start Gnonto and while it would not be a big surprise if Meslier is kept in the side – Leeds fans will be worried if Gracia remains with the Frenchman. Bringing Robles in would add experience, and leadership.
