Charlie Cresswell and Adam Forshaw have both wished Jack Jenkins well after his loan move from Leeds United to Scunthorpe United was confirmed on Friday.
Jenkins has joined the Iron on a loan deal until January after he was unable to secure a move to an EFL club before last Friday’s deadline, with Forshaw and Cresswell both sending him a message in response to his Instagram post.
Scunthorpe are currently in the National League North and will be looking for an immediate return to the National League Premier after their relegation last season.
They currently sit top of the league after picking up 17 points from their opening eight matches and Jenkins will represent a significant coup for a team at that level.
Jenkins spent last season on loan at Salford City but was only able to appear 11 times in all competitions, scoring one goal.
Forshaw and Cresswell send Jenkins message after Leeds loan exit
Jenkins has been a key part of Leeds‘ U21s success in recent years and even featured in the opening four matches of the Young Whites’ PL2 campaign this season.
He has been on the bench several times for Leeds’ first team, making just one appearance in a 3-0 defeat at Crawley Town in the FA Cup back in January 2021.
Cressswell and Forshaw have been his teammates for several years at Leeds, with both having taken to Instagram to wish him well.
Jenkins will be looking to use this loan spell as a chance to really kick start his career given how highly thought of he was at Leeds a couple of years ago.
His time at Salford was far from ideal but Scunthorpe should provide him a platform to play regular football and hopefully find his way back to the EFL.
