Hull City boss Liam Rosenior has claimed Leeds United trio Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Jaidon Anthony are ‘Premier League athletes’.

Rosenior was speaking in his post-match press conference after Hull’s 0-0 draw with Leeds at the MKM Stadium where he gave his assessment of the match.

Leeds had dominated the game up until the hour mark when centre-back Joe Rodon was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence.

After replacing the injured Wilfried Gnonto around 20 minutes in, Summerville was key to that domination with the Dutchman the best player on the pitch.

Rutter, meanwhile, struggled to make the same impact as in the win at Millwall, with Anthony doing most of his work going the other way as he came on when Leeds were down to 10.

Speaking after the draw, Rosenior claimed he was fairly happy with the result having come up against players with the quality of Rutter, Summerville and Anthony.

He said: “Rutter and Summerville are Premier League athletes. So is Anthony. What you can’t do is throw the kitchen sink at them.

“So close to beating a very good team. They were better in the first half. Second half we were better, even before the red. Got to grips with our press and possession play. From the red onwards it was domination as it should be. Daniel’s players were a credit to him.”

There is no doubt Leeds’ attacking options are one of, if not the best in the league though last night will have been a frustrating night.

Leeds created enough chances to be leading at the break and so it is disappointing they lacked that clinical edge after scoring three at the Den.

Having played with 10 men for so long, though, Leeds will come away fairly happy with a point and clean sheet.
