Last summer, Leeds United were linked with a move for Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada and now, the Europa League champions have issued a statement on Twitter – confirming that Kamada will leave the club on a free in the summer.
Kamada, 26, has spent the last six years at Franfkfurt – clocking up 170 senior outings and having a hand in 68 goals. This term, is his best yet. In 38 games from attacking midfield, he has scored 13 times – creating five more.
Last summer, Sport1 said Leeds were rivalling Tottenham for the Japan star, who boasts 28 caps for his country. LeedsUnited.News, even spoke to Japan Times writer Dan Orlowitz about the links, and if he would be a good fit.
Interest in Kamada is only growing with a number of clubs around Europe interested. But now, Frankfurt have taken to Twitter to confirm that the Japanese ace will leave on a free transfer this summer. It is unclear if Leeds are keen.

Kamada has shown European football over the last couple of years that he is a serious player. A player good enough for the Premier League and won that needs to be playing in Europe. Leeds stand little chance of signing the player.
But what is clear, is that if Kamada wants to join a Premier League club where he is going to be first choice – then Leeds would be ideal, if we stay up. But judging by those interested, it is more than likely he joins a top-six club.
That might not even be in England. Leeds stand little chance of nabbing his signature but as Orlowitz states in our interview, he would be a good fit in the way we play. Probably, replacing Brenden Aaronson as our starting no.10.
