Celtic talent Leo Hjelde has potentially dropped a hint on Instagram that he could be on his way to Leeds United this summer. The Norwegian has been strongly linked with a move to Elland Road – ever since the January window. Now, his latest Instagram activity is a big hint towards Leeds.
Hjelde, 17, has been linked with Leeds for some time – but instead of joining the Whites in January, he moved to Ross County on loan. It was his first senior game time and he certainly impressed. Clocking up 12 appearances for County under John Hughes, Hjelde scored in a win over Kilmarnock.
Even Hughes admitted that prior to his move to County in January, Leeds had been in contact with Celtic over a move to sign him. Now, he has returned to Celtic after his loan spell. Having entered the final year of his contract at Parkhead, he is certainly available for transfer.
What has Hjelde done to hint at Leeds move?
Leeds have already made numerous additions to their Premier League 2, Under-23 side. Mark Jackson got the reserves promoted to the top tier of Premier League 2 – and Leeds have since added Sean McGurk, Amari Miller and Lewis Bate. Now, Hjelde could be next.
That is because the Celtic sensation has just followed Leeds on Instagram. It remains to be seen what kind of fee Celtic will want for Hjelde. Celtic are currently in the midst of the Champions League qualifying stages.
