Phil Hay has said on The Athletic’s live transfer blog that Carlos Corberan wants to lure Leeds United ace Cody Drameh to West Brom – but Birmingham City are pushing hard to sign the defender on loan.
Drameh, 21, was expected to return to Leeds this summer and instantly become first choice over Luke Ayling. But Drameh has only been used twice off the bench – the latter of which came at Ipswich Town.
He was subbed on to replace the injured Sam Byram – but 20 minutes later, was subbed off again. Since then, Leeds have signed Djed Spence on loan from Tottenham. Drameh is now surplus to requirements.
He has been made available for a loan. Hay says that Birmingham – who have beaten Leeds, and have signed Tyler Roberts from us on a permanent basis – are pushing to land the England U21 defender.
However, the Blues are not alone and direct competition comes from another Midlands club in the form of West Brom. Corberan and Drameh did not work together – but it would see Corberan raid his old side.

West Brom would be a solid move for Drameh, playing for a big under a manager that has a faith in youth. Hardly an issue these days for Drameh, though, who has starred at Championship level of late.
He won Player of the Season at Cardiff in 2021-22 despite only playing for half a season. Then, last season, he helped Luton get promoted. Now he looks set for a third loan spell to a Championship club.
Leeds meanwhile, are expected to have numerous arrivals in the next 30-odd hours. Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara are undergoing medicals and the Whites are also being linked with a £4m Ola Solbakken deal.
