Cameron Archer has been quoted by The Yorkshire Post as saying that the reason he chose to join Sheffield United from Aston Villa – and not Leeds United – was because he had a “feeling” about them.
Archer, 21, had spent time on loan in the Championship over the previous two seasons. In a similar way to Cody Drameh, he has joined two sides on loan in the January of the past two years. Preston, first.
He scored seven goals in 20 in the second half of the 2021-22 season. Then, joining Boro in January, the England U21 man scored 11 and created six more in 23 games for Michael Carrick’s impressive side.

Back at Villa, he remained some way down the pecking order behind Ollie Watkins, Nicolo Zaniolo and Jhon Duran. So, he chose to move. The striker opted to join Sheffield United for a fee of £18.5million.
Angus Kinnear recently told The Square Ball that Archer was a target and that Leeds were willing to offer him a permanent home. Now, he has explained that decision – stating he had a feeling about the Blades.
“Premier League football, passionate fans, a big club,” he said as he explained the reasons behind his decision. “You just have that feeling when a club is interested, I had that feeling about Sheffield United.”

Archer explains reason he chose Sheffield United over Leeds
Ultimately, Archer wanted to be in the Premier League. Even if it means, with a club that are threatened with relegation. He wants to prove to everyone, including Villa, that he can be a Premier League success.
He would have been a sensational signing for Leeds but ultimately, it was not to be. Archer has started well in the Premier League with Paul Heckingbottom’s side – branded “deadly” by Charlie Cresswell.
