A report from Dutch outlet 1908.nl says that Feyenoord remain in the running for Leeds United star Luis Sinisterra with talks taking place in the ‘coming hours’ – but, Bundesliga and La Liga clubs are also interested in signing him.
The 24-year-old started and finished the opening game of the season, playing a big part in our 2-2 draw against Cardiff City. The feeling was, that the Colombian was keen to remain at Leeds and bolster our push for promotion.
But, having picked up a knock to his knee, he was only a late sub against Shrewsbury. On Saturday, ahead of the trip to Birmingham City, he informed Daniel Farke he did not want to be made available in case he worsens the injury.
Thus, ruining a chance of a move. A report from 1908.nl earlier this week said that Leeds and Feyenoord were in talks over a loan move for Sinisterra – which would see the winger return to the Eredivisie side, a year after leaving.
Now, 1908.nl deliver a new update. They say that Leeds prefer a permanent exit – but that Bundesliga and La Liga clubs are also keen. They also say talks between Feyenoord and Leeds are due to take place in the ‘coming hours’.

While the 49ers are clearly keen to sell Sinisterra if there is interest for the ex-Feyenoord man – they can do little if a club tables a loan offer. Sinisterra is likely to be one of the number of players with a loan clause in his Leeds deal.
However, Leeds could get around this issue by quickly loaning out another player to a foreign club. Perhaps, Helder Costa, Junior Firpo. There is one slot remaining, with FIFA allowing seven over-21’s players to go on loan abroad.
Leeds will want cash for Sinisterra so the 49ers can begin spending and improving Daniel Farke’s depleted squad – which has been hampered by injury, just as much. Feyenoord are unlikely to be able to afford a permanent deal.
