Just seven games in, Leeds United and Daniel Farke have had to contend with several injury problems already. The physicality and intensity of the Premier League take players right to the limit.

Lucas Perri, Willy Gnonto, and Dan James missed Saturday’s clash against Tottenham. It is believed Perri and Gnonto will be available after the October break, but James is out until after the November break.

Earlier this season, Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka suffered the same MCL knee injury that kept Ampadu out of games against Arsenal and Newcastle, as did the Japan star. Others have missed Leeds games.

Luckily, Karl Darlow and Brenden Aaronson have stepped in to replace Perri and both James and Gnonto to good effect, even if Darlow should have done better on Saturday. Another is playing with an injury.

Bryn Law says Leeds player has been playing with a broken finger

In the last few weeks, midfielder Anton Stach has been seen playing with a cast on his right hand, though nothing has been said regarding the reason for Stach’s wrapping. Often, players wear it superstitiously.

But now, LUTV commentator Bryn Law has information about that. During commentary of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham, the LUTV man explained that Stach has a broken finger, the reason for his strapping.

Law said it is the little finger on Stach’s right hand after a foul by Mohammed Kudus on 20 minutes: “He’s back on his feet, still got that bandaging on his right hand has Anton Stach, that broken little finger.”

Anton Stach now has a couple of weeks to rest his broken finger

Stach will be able to get that finger on ice for the next few days, having been unable to win a Germany call-up. Julian Nagelsmann does have his eye on Stach, but the midfielder won’t add to his two caps.

Focus will be on getting Perri and Gnonto ready for selection at Burnley after the break. Leeds have nine players in action during the break, with James unable to play for Wales. Harry Gray’s hip will be rested.

Next up then, a trip to Turf Moor to face Scott Parker’s struggling Burnley which could well be a massive game in the fight to avoid relegation, before returning to Elland Road to host West Ham on October 24.
