Leeds United will be pleased with their start to life back in the Championship after last season’s relegation.
Following a chaotic summer transfer window, Leeds sit fifth in the table on 19 points from their 11 matches, with their recent run of form having propelled them into the top six.
However, despite that decent points tally, Leeds are a considerable distance away from the automatic promotion places after unprecedented starts from both Leicester City and Ipswich Town.

Leicester, who came down with Leeds, are already on 30 points, while Ipswich – who were promoted from League One in May – are just two points further back.
One man who has been key to Ipswich’s incredible start is Leif Davis, a player Leeds sold for just over £1 million back in the summer of 2022.
Leif Davis is now an assist king at Ipswich Town
In the season prior to his permanent Leeds exit, Davis spent time at Bournemouth on loan, where Scott Parker hailed him as ‘brilliant’, though that wasn’t really reflected in his game time.
However, during Ipswich’s League One promotion campaign in 2022/23, Davis provided 14 assists in 44 matches, the most of any player in the division.

There are always question marks as to whether a player will be able to replicate that in a higher division, but Davis has gone from strength-to-strength in the Championship.
Davis again sits at the top of the assist charts for the entire league with six already from his 10 appearances, a staggering amount for someone playing at full-back.
While Leeds have seemingly solved their recent left-back issue with the signing of Sam Byram, there must be a hint of regret at selling Davis for so cheap given how well he has done.
