Brenden Aaronson has taken to social media after the Leeds United loanee scored his first goal for Union Berlin in their win over Hoffenheim.
Brenden Aaronson has struggled to show what Leeds are missing during his time in Germany. His decision to join Union Berlin was understandable considering that they could offer Champions League football.
However, it has been a miserable season for Union. They failed to win any of their group-stage games in Europe. And they have been involved in a relegation scrap in the Bundesliga.

They have now won three of their last five league games, with the latest win coming on Saturday. And it was Aaronson who scored the winner against Hoffenheim. The USMNT international came off the bench midway through the second-half.
Aaronson has now taken to Instagram to express his delight at scoring, posting the caption: ‘No better feeling’.

Aaronson’s loan spell in Germany certainly does not appear to be doing Leeds any favours. Ultimately, you would imagine that plenty of supporters are not that bothered about seeing the 23-year-old play for the club again.
It appeared to be a move that did not work out for Leeds or Aaronson. The attacking midfielder started well. But he really struggled to deal with the physicality in the Premier League. And the bright moments were too few and far between.
A year in the Championship looked to have the potential to really help Aaronson. However, he decided to move elsewhere. And without him, Leeds have put together a devastating group of attacking players.
It is hard to see Union pushing to keep Aaronson unless Leeds are prepared to make a big loss on him. And there may not be a huge queue of suitors in the summer – unless his goal at the weekend is a sign of what is to come over what remains of his loan.
