Leeds United take on Oxford United on Good Friday in their fourth-last Championship match of the season, with Daniel Farke’s side perhaps only a couple of wins away from automatic promotion.
Leeds are back on top of the Championship after falling into third place following the draw against Luton Town. Two consecutive wins coincided with Burnley drawing at Derby, and Sheffield United’s implosion.
Chris Wilder says Sheffield United have “let it slip” in the race for automatic promotion with The Blades losing to Oxford United, Millwall and then Plymouth on the weekend – going behind 2-1 on 88 minutes.
With Leeds and Burnley now five ahead of Sheffield United with four games to go, Leeds could easily find themselves promoted come Monday – with Sheffield United and Burnley going head to head on Monday.

David Prutton predicts Leeds United to beat Oxford United
The Whites then, come into the game on Friday night in good form and aware that a win or two will put Daniel Farke’s side into the driving seat. The Whites beat Oxford United 4-0 at Elland Road in December.
There is the potential of a banana skin but Leeds will be confident going into Friday night’s clash. They might even get the boost of Sheffield United or Burnley dropping points earlier on, during the day.
Former Leeds midfielder David Prutton has told Sky Sports: “[The win over] Middlesbrough should have been more comfortable, and then what they did at the weekend. I’m going to go Oxford 0-2 Leeds.”

David Prutton also predicts Burnley and Sheffield United matches
While Leeds are in action at 8pm on Friday evening, Sheffield United host Cardiff City at 5.30PM but it is Burnley in action first. Probably the toughest of the three games, Burnley face Watford away from home.
Scott Parker’s men are 29 games unbeaten and that should become 30 at Vicarage Road. But, this is the Championship run-in and anything can happen – Watford will be hoping to take advantage of the race.
Prutton however, backed both Burnley and Sheffield United to win: “I’m going to go with Burnley not to concede a goal, but to score a goal – and that means a 1-0 win for Burnley. I see them winning.
“I see a reaction from the Sheffield United players of anger. Chris Wilder is no wall flower, bless him. I mean that in the nicest way, it’s about getting the job done. I’m going to go, Sheffield United to win 2-1.”
All three sides winning would see the five-point gap remain, but it would take Leeds an inch closer to securing automatic promotion ahead of a pivotal match between Burnley and Sheffield United.
