Pascal Struijk has enjoyed a wonderful start to the Championship season at Leeds United and with January approaching, journalist Suleyman Ozturk expects “big clubs” to make a move in January.

Struijk, 24, has played every single minute of the Championship campaign for Leeds so far as Daniel Farke looks to guide the Whites to an instant return to the Premier League come the end of the season.

So far, Struijk has helped Leeds limit the concession of goals to just 15 – keeping six clean sheets in the process, scoring three goals in all competitions. Struijk has even captained Leeds in our last five games.

The Dutch defender has a contract at Elland Road until 2027 but Voetbal International reporter Ozturk claims – as per Voetbal Zone – that Struijk will be the subject of offers from “big clubs” in January.

He claims Struijk, who joined Leeds from Ajax back in January 2018 and is now nearing six years at Elland Road, is the “best defender” in the League. Needs a move, to further his Netherlands aspirations.

“Plays at too low a level. I can imagine a big club will come for him in January. The best defender in the Championship. Think he’ll make that step. Getting into the Dutch team from the second level is difficult.”

Big clubs expected to make move for Leeds star Pascal Struijk

Yes, there will be Premier League clubs looking at Struijk and thinking, he might be a smart January addition. In January, mid-to-low positioned Premier League clubs may look to strengthen their defence.

Struijk is proving he is of that level. However. Struijk seems happy, finally getting a long-winded run in the Leeds side in his favoured centre-back position and, captaining Leeds after surpassing 100 games.

Not only that, but Struijk has a contract at Leeds until the summer of 2027. So, any big clubs that want to sign Struijk will have to pay a handsome fee for Leeds to even consider letting him go in January.
