Dion Dublin has told The FA Cup that Patrick Bamford could be a monster for Leeds United after his performance against Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
Leeds are through to the fifth round of the competition after a 3-1 victory at the Wham Stadium. Jack Harrison, Junior Firpo and Luis Sinisterra gave Jesse Marsch’s men the win against the League One side.
Bamford was not able to get onto the scoresheet. But there is little question that he was the star of the show for the Premier League side. The striker led the line alongside Georginio Rutter.

It was Bamford’s first start in some time. In fact, it was the first time since the opening day win against Wolves where the striker has been on the pitch for longer than 75 minutes.
In his absence, Rodrigo has stepped up in a big way. And of course, players like Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville have shone for the Whites. Rutter meanwhile, has come in in a club-record deal.
But Dublin believes that Bamford could have a big role to play for Leeds if he can avoid injuries in the coming months.
“I like him, I like Bamford. I think he’s a very, very good player. And he’s great for Leeds. Keep him fit he’s going to be a monster,” he told The FA Cup.
It will be fantastic for Leeds if Bamford can continue to stay fit. Last season was almost a write-off for the 29-year-old. And there may have been concerns that this campaign could go a similar way given how long it has been since he played 90 minutes.
Of course, that hurdle is still one Bamford needs to clear. But he is looking like a player with a point to prove after – unfortunately, understandably – being written off by many.
There are still concerns for Leeds to address. But the amount of depth they now have up front could make a massive difference in the battle to beat the drop.
Certainly, Bamford could have a massive role to play from here for Marsch’s men.
