Leeds United already have several names on their summer transfer wishlist. And for Daniel Farke, attentions may be rapidly turning towards some summer deals.
After Leeds United’s 2-1 win over Sunderland on Monday night, the Whites now have seven points standing between themselves in 1st place of the Championship table and Burnley in 3rd. Sunderland in 4th are now 10 points behind Leeds.
Daniel Farke’s side continue to put more and more space between themselves and their promotion rivals but next Monday they face Sheffield United in 2nd, who currently sit two points behind Leeds.
A win at Bramall Lane could all but seal Leeds’ return to the top flight after a two year hiatus. At which point, Leeds may start to seriously consider what summer transfers they can complete with several names already linked with moves to Elland Road.
Leeds are keeping tabs on Emi Buendia who’s on loan at Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season, with the German outfit holding a £16.7million option to buy Buendia. Another name tipped to be a summer target for Leeds is Cameron Archer.

Leeds United target Cameron Archer is Southampton’s lowest-ranked player this season
Leeds United wanted to sign Archer on deadline day earlier in February. He remains at St Mary’s until the summer at least, and whilst Leeds may hand him a lifeline in the summer, he’s not exactly performing well with the Saints this season.
The 23-year-old former Aston Villa man has just two goals in 22 games in the Premier League this season. Now, Football365 has compiled data from WhoScored, outing each Premier League’s lowest-rated player in 2024/25 (with a minimum of ‘at least eight starts and 14 matches played to avoid including players who get five minutes at the end every other week’).
Archer’s 6.18 average rating in the Premier League this season makes him the lowest-rated player at bottom club Southampton, who currently have just nine points to their name this season.

Cameron Archer’s goals-per-minute vs Mateo Joseph in 2024/25
Mateo Joseph is the back up striker at Leeds United. He’s proved to be a divisive player this season with fans often thinking the Spaniard isn’t ready for regular Championship football, let alone Premier League football.
But the 21-year-old has three goals in 1176 minutes of league football this season, compared to Archer’s two goals in 1051 minutes of Premier League football this season, meaning Joseph scores a goal every 392 minutes at Leeds whilst Archer scores every 526 minutes at Southampton.
Although comparing Premier League and Championship goals, it’s certainly grim reading for Archer who’s not exactly showing Leeds why they’d want to sign him in the summer, especially in the case of the Whites returning to the Premier League.
