Fabrizio Romano has reported that Europa Conference League finalists Fiorentina have made an offer worth £5m for Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic – and Leeds should rival La Viola, having wanted him back in January.
Livakovic rose to prominence during the Qatar World Cup. Starring in goal, the 45-time capped Croatian stopper kept clean sheets against Morocco and Belgium – and won penalty shootouts against Japan and Brazil last winter.
Following that showing in The Middle East, clubs became interested. Not least, because he has also impressed at club level – 131 clean sheets in 283 Zagreb outings, winning the Croatian league six times. His deal ends in 2024.

Media Foot reported ahead of the January window that Leeds were considering Livakovic. Romano reports that Fiorentina have made a £5m bid for the goalkeeper. With Leeds in need of a stopper, he may be the ideal signing.
Fiorentina make £5m offer for Livakovic and Leeds should rival La Viola
Joel Robles has been invited back to pre-season, but the Spaniard will become a free agent on Friday. It means that while the new boss – likely to be Daniel Farke – may opt to keep him, he will no longer be a Leeds player tomorrow.
Illan Meslier has been strongly linked with the exit door, despite his poor form during the second half of the season. Leeds need a goalkeeper, and cannot rely on Kris Klaesson. Livakovic is cheap, available and a brilliant option.

However, if Leeds do reignite January interest in Livakovic, it will be tricky to convince him to join a second tier side when clubs like Fiorentina are after him. Fiorentina might even have European football to offer – if Juve are banned.
So, Leeds can afford him, need a goalkeeper and are clearly admirers of the Croatian goalkeeper. It should convince Leeds to make a move – but the chances of actually getting him would be slim, due to Fiorentina’s interest.
