Arsenal are one of a host of Premier League heavyweights now interested in signing Willy Gnonto from Leeds United, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that Manchester City and Chelsea also have their eye on the Italy international.
Gnonto, of course, has been a shining light for Leeds ever since making his Premier League debut in the dramatic win over Liverpool in October. He was certainly the one positive from the final weeks of Jesse Marsch’s tenure.
Leeds fans have been pretty realistic about what the future holds for Gnonto. Like Raphinha before him, the 19-year-old moving up a level at some stage seems inevitable.

His form had dipped in the early stages of Javi Gracia’s tenure. But it would be no surprise if Leeds were fielding offers for the youngster in the summer.
And it seems that a number of Premier League sides are interested. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are all keen.
Leeds are going to have to improve considerably if they want to hold onto Gnonto in the long-term. But you would imagine that the forward would be open to staying beyond this season.
It would be quite early to move on given that he is still perfecting his game. And if he continues on his current trajectory, that interest is definitely going to still be there in a future window.
Much may depend on what happens in the remaining weeks of the season. But there is no question that Gnonto is indeed a ‘really special‘ talent with an incredibly high ceiling.
Hopefully, he plays well enough in the coming weeks to show why the top clubs are looking at him. But it would be a real boost if he decided to stay for at least one more year.
