Leeds United fans will be waking up on Thursday morning with a big smile on their faces, but also hope that they can build on their stunning win over Chelsea when Liverpool comes to Elland Road.
Amid all the pressure on Daniel Farke, the dismal run of form and long-term injuries to Sean Longstaff and Dan James, Leeds produced a miraculous performance to beat high-flying Chelsea with a 3-1 win.
What a win! Who was your Man of the Match? 🔥
Goals from Jaka Bijol, Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin got the job done, cancelling out Pedro Neto’s goal. A brilliant win for Leeds, with Farke’s usage of the 3-5-2 system working to absolute perfection.
The win relieves some pressure on Farke’s shoulders, even if Farke was forced to have a chat with one angry fan behind the Leeds dugout. Next up for Leeds is struggling Liverpool at Elland Road on Saturday.

Arne Slot makes Leeds United claim after win against Chelsea
Farke may have relieved some pressure, but Arne Slot failed to do so on Wednesday night. The Dutch gaffer, having won the Premier League title last term, is struggling to get a tune out of his new-look side.
Slot has watched Liverpool lose nine of their last 14 games in all competitions, picking up just four wins and drawing 1-1 with Sunderland on Wednesday night. He spoke about Leeds after his side’s display.
“I haven’t given the thought how we’re going to play at the weekend. When we face Leeds, I think they had a good result today as well. So, yeah, another challenge for us,” Slot said during Sky Sports’ coverage.

Arne Slot visits Leeds for the first time since links with ER job
Slot will take his Liverpool side to Elland Road for his first-ever match against Leeds as a manager, but it could have been very different for the Dutchman had he made a different choice almost three years ago.
Slot was busy guiding Feyenoord to his first-ever Eredivisie title as a player or a manager back in 2022-23. But he had the opportunity to leave that and move to the Premier League, and to take over at Leeds.
Reports say Slot was tempted by Leeds and considered taking over from Jesse Marsch in February 2023, before eventually choosing to remain with Feyenoord. He would go on to win the Eredivisie title.
It turned out to be the right choice for Slot, remaining with Feyenoord for another season before his move to Liverpool and winning the league title. But on Saturday, he visits the club he almost joined.
