Leeds United have confirmed that Charlie Crew has penned a two-year pro contract with the club after a wonderful 22-23 season for the midfielder – prompting reaction from Archie Gray, Diogo Monteiro and others on Instagram.
Crew, 17, came into the 22-23 campaign having firmly established himself as part of the Leeds U18 side – and had earned Wales U17 caps. He has taken those achievements to a new level, captaining the Wales U17 side this term.
Not only that, but the talented midfielder has broken into the U21 side on a regular basis – playing 10 times as the 21’s gained promotion via the play-offs. It is likely he will continue to strengthen his position in the second string.
Especially, with Darko Gyabi and Archie Gray likely to be promoted to the first team. So, after a superb year in Leeds colours, Leeds announced that Crew had put pen to paper on a new two-year deal at Elland Road, until June 2025.
Following the news, Crew took to Instagram to underline his delight at signing the first professional contract of his career with Leeds. He will now be focused on cementing his place in the 21’s and maybe, a couple of senior games.

It might be a season or two until Crew does break into the senior side but at the rate he is progressing, you would not bet against the Wales kid from senior involvement over the next 12 months. He is certainly ahead of the curve.
Clearly, Crew is a well-liked member of the academy and second string – earning plenty of praise in reaction to his Instagram post having signed a new deal at Elland Road. Among those to comment, included Monteiro and Gray.
