Andrea Radrizzani has posted a message of praise for Leeds United star Tyler Adams for the way he responded to a question in his latest press conference – while Gary Lineker has also applauded the Leeds ace for his reply on Monday.
Adams, 23, has sparkled both on and off the pitch. On it, he has been USA’s best player in a 1-1 draw with Wales, and then nullifying England to draw 0-0. Off it, he has been made captain for America, impressing in press conferences.
On Monday, ahead of USA’s crucial World Cup clash against Iran, Adams was given a tricky question to answer. First, he was told the correct way to pronounce Iran – in a spiky tone taken by the Iranian journalist. Then, on discrimination.
He was asked about the discrimination and racism in USA. But Adams, unfazed, answered the question maturely, intelligently and calmly. He apologised for the pronunciation of Iran, tackling the point made regarding discrimination.
“There’s discrimination everywhere you go,” Adams said, as per CNN. “I’ve learned, especially from living abroad in the past years and having to fit in in different cultures, is that in the US, we’re making progress every single day.

“I grew up in a White family with an African-American heritage, background. I was easily able to assimilate in different cultures. Not everyone has the ability to do that. It takes longer to understand. Through education, it’s super important.
“Like you just educated me now on the pronunciation of your country. So, yeah, it’s a process. I think as long as you see progress, that’s the most important thing,” Adams said, when posed the tricky subject by the Iranian journalist.
Radrizzani and Lineker praise Leeds star Adams for reply
Adams showed all the compassion, guile and know how to respond to such a question in the best way, he possibly could have. This, from a man that has only just been made captain of a country as big as the US – at just 23.
Leeds fans adored Adams for his hard-working, aggressive style of play before the World Cup. But now, the Leeds fans and the wider world are becoming aware of what he is like as a person. What he is like as a leader, a role model.
Radrizzani and Lineker took to Twitter to praise the ex-Leipzig and New York Red Bulls midfielder. Radrizzani shared his pride of Adams on Twitter on Monday morning – while earlier on in the day, Lineker also raved about the midfielder.
