Leif Davis has received huge plaudits from Ipswich Town teammate Freddie Ladapo, with the former Leeds United left-back described as an incredible player.
Ladapo was speaking on the James Lawrence Allcott YouTube channel as he included Leif Davis in his dream team, consisting largely of players he has played with or against during his career.

Of course, Davis has received a lot of attention since his £1.5 million move from Elland Road last summer. He has played a key role in the Tractor Boys sealing promotion to the Championship.

Remarkably, he has managed 14 assists in League One this season. Only two players in Europe’s top five leagues have provided more: Kevin De Bruyne and Lionel Messi.

And when asked to pick a left-back for his dream team, Ladapo opted for the 23-year-old.
“I think he’s an incredible player, to be honest with you. He’s come in this season and he’s been absolutely sublime for us, probably get in the team of the year,” he said.
“And to do that in your first season at Ipswich, I think that’s incredible. He’s been top, one of the most chances created in the whole EFL.”
Obviously, Davis is playing in League One. So it would be silly to suggest that he would have been anywhere near as influential if he had remained at Leeds.
But Davis left after coming back into the fold in pre-season under Jesse Marsch. In fairness, Pascal Struijk started the season in good form in that role.
However, his form would dip, and Junior Firpo has missed a large part of the campaign due to injury. And Leeds still really lack depth in that area of the field.
Firpo showed on Saturday why Leeds cannot ever fully rely on him. And Davis comes close to replicating his form next year in the Championship, he is going to move for a lot, lot more than £1.5 million.
Admittedly, few were expressing real disbelief when Davis left. But in hindsight, that is looking like another poor piece of business from Leeds.
