Sam Byram returned from injury on Sunday to play 90 minutes as Leeds United beat Millwall 3-0 away from home, and Alex Mowatt has teased the defender after he posted a few photos on his Instagram.

Byram, 30, has returned to Leeds after breaking through the academy at Elland Road. Previously playing 143 times during his first spell – he is back at Leeds, seven and a half years after exiting for West Ham.

He has impressed. A free agent, riddled by injury over the last few years – there was little expectation on Byram. But with Junior Firpo injured, he is easily the club’s best option on the left side of the defence.

It was encouraging to see that Byram – given his recent injury woes – was able to return from the muscle issue he had picked up and play 90 minutes. He has posted on Instagram after his sixth 23-24 outing.

It was a superb performance from Daniel Farke’s Leeds. It looked as though all the stress of the transfer window had evaporated and when they are left to simply play football – it is a sign they can produce.

Byram has been one of the success stories of the season – and surprisingly so. He will have been signed as a squad player. So, to be starting as our best available option is a real testament to his 23-24 start.

As Leeds fans, is delightful to see a player that knows the club so well return. Like Byram, Mowatt also came through at a similar time. He teased Byram. Jamie Shackleton also responded, very impressed.
