Josip Brekalo is a name that has been linked with Leeds United for much of this summer’s transfer window. The Croatian wide man is looking to leave German club Wolfsburg in the coming months, and Leeds is a possible new home. Now, a source has said Leeds want Brekalo, to LUFC Fan Zone.
Brekalo, 23, clocked up 29 Bundesliga appearances last season and ended the campaign with seven goals and three assists. It was enough to get Brekalo into the Croatia Euro 2020 side – which ended in a poor run to the last 16. Now, Brekalo returns to Wolfsburg – but reportedly wants to leave.
German site Sport Buzzer report this week that Brekalo has informed the club he wants to leave. The report says he has handed in a transfer request, and that Wolfsburg want £12.75million for his signature. A bargain, given he is 23, but has 37 goal involvements in 120 Wolfsburg games.

What has been said about Brekalo – with Leeds and Liverpool keen?
Now, asked about interest in his client, the a source close to Brekalo has responded to LUFC Fan Zone. The source says that Leeds are indeed keen on signing Brekalo this summer and that it will be a fee of £12.75million. But the source also says Liverpool are keen – as well as Spanish and Italian sides.
That makes sense, given a recent report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims Lazio – managed by Maurizio Sarri – are eyeing a move. Here is exactly what the source close to Brekalo said, including that Leeds and Liverpool are pushing “aggressively” to nab the winger’s signature.
