Leeds United decided not to extend the contract of Adam Forshaw in the summer and he went on a free transfer to Norwich. Now, it’s looking like the Whites made the right choice.
Adam Forshaw made 91 appearances for Leeds over five years, and he most likely would have made more if it wasn’t for a serious injury.
Whether to give the 31-year-old a contract ahead of its expiry last summer was definitely a debate amongst many at Leeds.
In the end, the club decided to allow Forshaw to leave and following the expiry of his contract, he went on a free transfer to Norwich. Now, it’s looking like that was the right decision.

Forshaw had some ‘outstanding‘ moments for Leeds United and made 12 Premier League appearances last season for the club.
With this in mind, he could have definitely been good to have around the changing room, but his time at Norwich is showing that he may have not made a huge impact on the pitch if he stayed at Leeds.
So far this season, the central midfielder has made two appearances in the Carabao Cup and four in the Championship.
In these appearances, Forshaw has only started two matches and in total, he has only managed 213 minutes of football out of a possible 1,170.
With the player on wages of around £20k-a-week whilst at Leeds and the club signing top central midfielders like Glen Kamara and Ethan Ampadu over the summer, Forshaw’s game time would have been limited.
Despite the fact that many loved the player, it looks like it was probably for the best that Leeds didn’t decide to give him a new contract.
