Danish outlet TV2 Sport state that ‘according to the plan’, Rasmus Kristensen will return to Leeds United at the end of the season from Roma – instead of signing permanently with Jose Mourinho’s Serie A side.
Kristensen, 26, has endured an up and down spell at Roma so far. He started the first two Serie A games of the season – but was dragged at half-time in the second. Axed for the third, remaining an unused sub.
Then, given the competition of fellow right-backs Zeki Celik and Rick Karsdorp, Kristensen was left out of Roma’s Europa League squad. Incredibly harsh, but Roma had to make a choice. They did just that.
However, Kristensen rallied and his form improved after the AC Milan and European omission. He started and finished the next three League games, registering an assist in the 7-0 win over Empoli in September.
He has come off the bench in the last two Serie A games – both of which came as wins against Cagliari and Frosinone. Not an ideal start but things are improving. There is a plan in place over his future.

The report states that ‘according to the plan’, the £10m Leeds signing will return to Leeds at the end of the loan spell with Roma. There is no permanent clause included in the loan for the Danish defender.
So, Kristensen has a task ahead of him. He needs to show Roma why he deserves to keep playing and in turn, win a permanent move. Or, put himself in the shop window. Staying at Leeds does seem unlikely.
The most-likely scenario as things stand is that Kristensen will come back to Leeds next summer and then, he will be looking to find another new club. Perhaps, he could rejoin on loan, like Diego Llorente.
