AC Milan have pulled out of the race to sign Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah, which could indirectly help Leeds United.
According to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, Milan have informed Valencia they will not be increasing their initial offer of between £10/11 million.
That will now leave the door open for Premier League side Fulham to complete a move, with Marco Silva extremely keen on the USA international.
Fulham are looking to add to their midfield options this summer and appear to have priced Joao Palhinha out of a move to West Ham, which could potentially mean they only bring in one.
According to Sky Sports, Fulham are also keen on Leeds target Gustavo Hamer, but with a deal now there to be done for Musah, they may cool their interest in the Coventry City star.
Milan decision could help Leeds in Hamer chase
As per Phil Hay of the Athletic, Hamer is among Leeds’ top midfield targets this summer, with the 26-year-old someone the Whites have liked for a very long time.
However, with 11 goals and 10 assists last season, coupled with his contract expiring in 12 months’ time, competition is likely to be strong for him.
Leeds may also find it tough to convince him to move to Elland Road if there is Premier League interest, but Fulham may now be one less team to worry about if they are indeed serious on moving for Hamer.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Burnley are the latest side to express an interest in the 26-year-old with Vincent Kompany keen to make him their next summer signing.
Leeds certainly have a huge task ahead of them to win this transfer race but AC Milan may have just inadvertently given them a helping hand.
