Javi Gracia is closing in on his first job since leaving Leeds United with La Liga club Almeria keen to appoint him.
That is according to Super Deporte, who report Gracia is currently the ‘best placed’ candidate to land the role as he ‘stands out’ among all the other contenders.
As per the report, Vicente Moreno has already been relieved of his duties at Almeria having only been appointed at the beginning of July.
Moreno, though, failed to win any of his seven league matches in charge, with a 5-1 defeat to Victor Orta’s Sevilla the final straw for his time at the club.
Should Gracia he given the job, he would arrive with Almeria currently rock bottom of La Liga and with another tough task on his hands.

Gracia has been out of work since leaving Leeds back in May with the Whites staring down the barrel of relegation after a 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth.
The 53-year-old had been hired in February with the remit of keeping Leeds in the Premier League, a job in which he started off brightly with three wins in his first six matches.
However, a 5-1 defeat at Crystal Palace saw his time at the club unravel quickly as a favourable run of five fixtures saw Leeds pick up just one point.
In that period, Leeds conceded 18 goals which meant his position at Elland Road became untenable, losing his job alongside the man who appointed him, in Orta.
With all that said, Gracia was certainly not at the top of the blame list for Leeds’ relegation last season and it will be interesting to see how he fares in a new job.
