San Francisco 49ers Enterprises are now ‘pushing’ to name Aberdeen’s Jordan Miles as Leeds United’s new head of recruitment.

Leeds are in the process of completing overhauling their behind-the-scenes staff, and this is one role in which they are looking to make an appointment.

It has already been confirmed that Nick Hammond – who oversaw all of Leeds’ incoming and outgoing transfer activity in the summer – will be staying for the next two transfer windows.

However, Leeds are now looking to spread the role of recruitment across numerous different people, having had solely Victor Orta in charge during Andrea Radrizzani’s reign, which did not work.

And according to the Daily Record, Leeds have earmarked Aberdeen’s Miles as the one they want and are looking to bring him to Elland Road before the start of the January transfer window, which could indicate that they will be looking to make some signings.

In Hammond, Gretar Steinsson and Gary Penrice, Leeds already now have a number of people in their recruitment team, but Miles could well be the man to finish it off.

It is said that Leeds are ‘expected’ to agree a deal to bring Miles to West Yorkshire, despite the fact he only moved to Aberdeen from West Ham United in the summer.

Leeds will have to pay the Scottish Premiership side compensation for Miles’ signature, but given how keen they are to get a quick deal done, that does not look like it will be a problem.

This is just another example of the 49ers looking to level Leeds up off the pitch, which is an area the club were definitely lacking under Radrizzani.

Hopefully the increased organisation behind-the-scenes will lead to Leeds improving where it really matters, which is on the field. That said, their first few months as majority shareholders have certainly been promising.
