The agent of Nahitan Nandez, Pablo Bentancur, has told Leeds United Fan Zone that his client wants to play for the Whites under Marcelo Bielsa. The Uruguay international has been strongly linked with a move to Leeds. Now, his agent has said that a move to Leeds this summer is a “real possibility”.

Nandez, 25, has been excellent once again for Cagliari in Serie A – proving to play a crucial part in the Italians avoiding relegation. The midfielder is a target for Leeds, and has been since the Whites regained a place in the Premier League. Now, it appears the Whites are going back in for Nandez.

His agent, Bentancur, has confirmed that Leeds are keen and that his client wanted to join Leeds when he was still at Boca Juniors. The representative states it is Nandez’s wish to play in English football, and preferably with Leeds. Talks are also confirmed as underway.

What has the agent of Nandez said, about interest from Leeds?

Speaking to LUFC Fan Zone, as posted on their Instagram. Bentancur says: “Our wish is to play in England, if it is with Leeds that would be much better. Cagliari president Giulili and Radrizzani are close friend and have spoken. It is the good will of the presidents to close the operation.

“Giulini promised Nahitan that if he helped the club avoid relegation, he would help him move to a bigger club. Two big clubs from Italy are in talks – but England is our first choice. Nahitan wanted to join Leeds while at Boca. His style is best suited to English football.”

According to La Nuova Sardegna, Leeds are ‘ready’ to activate his £30million release clause. It would make the midfielder the club’s record purchase, eclipsing Rodrigo’s move from Valencia last summer by £3million. Leeds need a midfielder, and Nandez might just be perfect.

The claims from Bentancur are further strengthened by Mateusz Klich liking the post – that reported Nandez’s agent claiming Leeds are keen.
