20-year-old now set to leave Leeds United on loan, signed a new deal in the summer

Leeds United have some important decisions to make with some of their young players this month.

The Whites passed up opportunities to send the likes of Lewis Bate and Leo Hjelde out on loan in the summer, decisions which have now proved to be incorrect given how far away they are from the first team.

But with the January transfer window now open, it hands Leeds a fresh chance to rectify those errors and allow them to go and play regularly for the second half of the season.

While Bate and Hjelde are among those expected to depart, it is one of their U21s teammates who looks set to be first out of the exit door, in defender Kris Moore.

According the Yorkshire Evening Post, Moore is now ‘primed’ to make a move to Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, in what will be his first proper taste of regular football at senior level.

Hibs a good move for Leeds’ Moore

Moore has spent much of his time in Leeds’ academy playing as a central defender, but this season, has featured heavily at right-back, which is where he looks set to play at Hibs.

It is said that Hibs are currently short on numbers in that position with Chris Cadden on the sidelines with an Achilles problem, and Lewis Miller having been named in Australia’s squad for the Asian Cup.

Moore only signed a new two-year deal at Elland Road back in the summer but remains someway off first team football, with at least four players ahead of him both at right-back, and centre-back.

This looks like a really good move for the 20-year-old as Hibs will provide him with a very good level of football to go and play regular football, so hopefully he can prove himself.

It remains to be seen how many follow him out of the exit door, but it is a good sign that Leeds look ready to do business for some of their young players.
