The previous two seasons have seen Junior Firpo come under an intense amount of scrutiny from Leeds United fans – largely, for two reasons. A lack of form, and his inability to stay fit and available.
But the last four matches have seen Leeds win four in a row. In that time, Firpo has started all four – a sign that maybe he is finally over his injury issues. Three league games of the four, a superb four assists.
Firpo is perhaps, finally showing the form that Leeds might have expected of him when he first joined the club from Barcelona. Albeit, in the Championship. But in a side that allows him to use his strengths.
Instead of his defensive ability coming under criticism, Daniel Farke‘s system allows him to use what he is good at – his ability to get forward and create from the left flank. SPORT run a report on the defender.

Junior Firpo has finally won the trust of Leeds boss Daniel Farke
They say that Leeds are ‘delighted’ with this new and improved version of Firpo. They also say that the left-back has finally ‘earned the trust’ of his manager, something Firpo has failed to do at Elland Road.
His form is not going unnoticed, either. Reports this week claim Real Sociedad are looking at a move for Firpo as they require a left back after Aihan Munoz’s injury. It comes after his stunning outing on Sunday.
A performance that Neil Redfearn claims was one of his best in a Leeds shirt. What will be interesting, is if the £13m man can stay fit and continue this level of performances, and if Leeds sign a new left-back.
