Marc Roca has responded to a question over his future while he remains on the books at Leeds United, as per Spanish outlet Marca – with the Spanish midfielder shining out on loan at La Liga side Real Betis.
Roca, 26, struggled out at Leeds. It comes after shining at Espanyol, before joining Bayern Munich but managing just 24 outings for the German champions in two years. We decided to take a chance on him.
There were glimpses but English football does not look as if it suited Roca and the intensity hampered his ability to get on the ball and dictate the tempo. Relegation has seen Roca jump ship, joining Betis.
He has joined Betis on loan, where he has starred in the opening couple of months of the season. So much so, that he is being linked with a Spain call-up. But of course, he remains on the books at Leeds.
Roca has a contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2026 – but Mundo Deportivo say a permanent clause of £10.3m is in his loan. Roca responded when asked what the long-term future holds for him.
“Well, first of all it is very early. In the end I have been here for three months. I am very comfortable, very happy. I like to focus above all on the present, which is the most important thing. Anything can happen.
“The most important thing is to enjoy the moment. If God wants me to be here for many years, I will be here for many years. If it doesn’t have to be, it won’t be. I am very comfortable. The future will tell.”

It is quite incredible how Roca looked so out of place last season, is now proving to be one of La Liga’s best midfielders so far. Perhaps, a year in England has helped him grow, become more physical in Spain.
What is clear, is that Roca will have a decision to make. Betis will want him permanently but their issues with raising the cash could be a problem. Leeds may look to keep him. Who knows, at this early stage.
