Leeds United take on Arsenal in their second game of the 2025-26 season this weekend.
After so much build-up and anticipation, Leeds United delivered the goods on their return to the Premier League as they defeated Everton 1-0.
It was a barnburning performance from Daniel Farke’s side, with Lukas Nmecha grabbing a deserved winning goal from the spot.
The fact Leeds had to rely on a late, controversially awarded penalty to take the lead after such a dominant display is cause for concern, though, especially given the weekend’s opponents.
Leeds travel to face Arsenal, who also won their opening fixture 1-0 as they defeated Manchester United on their own turf.

Leeds will travel down to London for their first away day of the new Premier League campaign.
They take on Arsenal on Saturday, August 23, with kick-off at the Emirates Stadium coming at 5:30pm.

For the second week running, Leeds have been selected for television coverage by Sky Sports.

Leeds will welcome centre-back Jaka Bijol to the fold at the weekend after he missed the opening game of the season due to suspension.
It’s not clear if Farke will change a winning team, though, so he may need to take a seat on the bench alongside fellow defensive signing Sebastiaan Bornauw, who returned from injury on Monday.
It also remains to be seen whether Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be fit enough to be involved after signing on a free transfer.
Ethan Ampadu is the only injury concern after he was forced off with a bruised foot against the Toffees.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are without Gabriel Jesus and Christian Norgaard is a doubt.

Predictions
Arsenal looked far from their best in their opening day match against Manchester United, yet they still held out for a rare and important victory at Old Trafford.
The Gunners will pose a massive threat to Leeds and could act as a rude wake-up call to the level they are now playing at.
But, if Mikel Arteta’s side remain off the pace, a confident and strong Leeds could give them a bloody nose. It’s a tough game to call so early in the season, but the home side should have the advantage.
