Leeds United finally completed their first permanent exit of the summer earlier this afternoon as Marc Roca joined Real Betis.
Roca spent last season on loan at Betis and after weeks of ramblings, has finally put pen-to-paper on a four-year-deal, with the option of a fifth, at the Spanish side.
Leeds will be hoping this is not the start of a fire sale in West Yorkshire over the next two months, though if they are to avoid that from happening, they will need to agree some much more favourable financial packages.
Betis are reported to be paying just £4.25 million to sign the 27-year-old, which is over half what Leeds did just two years ago from Bayern Munich.
While Leeds are content it will not hurt them in terms of Profit and Sustainability, there is still the need for at least one big sale if they are to remain compliant.

Journalist shares interesting update on Jack Harrison’s future at Leeds
Leeds could turn a profit on a number of players including Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, Willy Gnonto, Illan Meslier and to a lesser extent, Charlie Cresswell this summer.
But if they are going to put together another promotion push next season, they simply cannot afford to lose all of the first three in the same window.
As such, the sales of some unwanted players are going to be vital and despite confirmation of his loan move back to Everton earlier this week, Jack Harrison could be one of them.
Though the deal that has taken him back to Goodison Park does not include an option-to-buy, transfer expert Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News a permanent deal could still happen either this summer, or in January, if Everton’s takeover goes through as expected.
He said: “Yeah definitely, Harrison going permanently is something. Leeds didn’t push it too hard because they know Everton aren’t really in that position to do it just yet. But if that takeover gets done as they think it will be, even come January, you could see a permanent deal done for Harrison.”
Could Leeds turn a profit on Harrison?
After three consecutive seasons on loan at Elland Road, Leeds eventually made his move from Manchester City permanent in 2021 for £11 million.
Leeds will be hoping he does not spend that sort of time on loan at Everton before he eventually leaves, though they would be in a good position either way.
Harrison was handed a new long-term-deal until the summer of 2028 just a month before Leeds’ relegation 13 months ago.
As such, Leeds could quite easily demand more than the £11 million they paid City to sell Harrison, which would be very good business for the club.
