Athletic reporter Phil Hay has given an update on what Leeds United fans can expect from deadline day in the January transfer window – and unfortunately for Leeds fans it is not expected to be a busy one in terms of incoming signings. There might be a few loan exits, though.
Hay claims that there are not expected to be any signings. French website Le10Sport claim Leeds and Southampton are in talks to sign Romain Perraud from Brest – but the left-back is expected to leave the French club in the summer. Links to Marseille’s Jordan Amavi have been rubbished by numerous sources. Outgoings are expected, though.
Hay claims that defender Olly Casey – who has been linked with an exit this week – could be on his way to Patrick Bamford’s former loan side MK Dons. The Dons currently sit in 16th place in League One. Offers are already on the table for Jay-Roy Grot – who is a part of the club’s 25-man Premier League squad – and forgotten striker Rafa Mujica.
Grot is said to have been training with Dutch side Ado Den-Haag despite being included in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad list. Previous reports claim Mujica is fed up while on loan at Real Oviedo and a deal to cancel that loan and take the 22-year-old striker to Las Palmas is in the offing.
Leeds currently have six players that are out of contract in the summer, and their futures could be sorted today. Gjanni Alioski is said to be in talks with the club – though reports over a move to Galatasaray have been mooted. Ouasim Bouy, Conor Shaughnessy and Grot are all out of contract in the summer – as is Gaetano Berardi.
