It is only March, but transfer rumours are beginning to gather speed and regularity as we grow closer to the summer window – and the end of a whole host of contracts that expire in June 2021. Leeds United are in the thick of some reports, with a couple of players being linked with a move to Elland Road – while one has been targeted by a Champions League side.

Raul De Tomas – Espanyol

The 26-year-old Spanish striker has caught the eye for his stunning performances this season – even though they have come in Spain’s second tier. The striker has 16 goals in 29 La Liga 2 appearances for Espanyol and that has seen Fichajes claim both Leeds and West Ham United are said to be interested in signing the forward.

Despite his goals this season coming in the second tier of Spain, don’t think he would not be able to hack it in the top flight. Indeed, De Tomas has played 47 times at La Liga level and has scored 18 goals in that time. One sticking point is that he has a contract at his current club until the summer of 2026.

Noni Madueke – PSV Eindhoven

Madueke, 19, is a proper talent. Having left Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2018, aged just 16, Madueke has since broken into PSV Eindhoven side on a regular basis – clocking up 17 goal involvements during his 27 senior outings for the Dutch side this season. Those goals have come in the Eredivisie – but also in the Europa League.

Such is his incredible breakthrough form, Madueke was called-up to England’s Under-21 side this month – and earned his first cap on Sunday night during a 2-0 loss to Portugal. The Evening Standard claim that Leeds are interested in the winger, but the Whites are not alone. Crystal Palace want to bring him back to London, while Bayern Munich are also keen.

Illan Meslier – PSG

Bit of a left-field one, this. But for once, it is not Raphinha that is being linked with a summer move away from Leeds – but this time, it is goalkeeper Meslier. The youngster, who has been nominated for March’s Player of the Month award, has been excellent all season – as we all know. Nine clean sheets in 28 Premier League matches, and counting, is proof of his excellent form.

Not only that, but he has become the record holder for a Premier League goalkeeper when it comes to clean sheets under the age of 21 – netting himself eight before he turned 21, beating Joe Hart’s seven. The National claim Meslier has been targeted by PSG – with the French champions of the opinion that Meslier would be easier to sign over Hugo Lloris or David De Gea.
