Report: Raphinha could arrive in Barcelona on Monday with deal close

Raphinha could arrive in Barcelona as early as Monday with talks with Leeds United entering the final phase and agreement possible at any time now, according to a report from Sport.

It does feel as if an end to the Raphinha saga is finally in sight. The Brazilian, of course, has been linked with a move away from Elland Road for most of the year.

There have been plenty of twists and turns when it comes to deciding his future. But it has appeared that moving to Camp Nou is the winger’s priority.

That has meant that Chelsea agreeing a fee for the 25-year-old has, so far, led to little. But obviously, the frustrating aspect of Barca’s pursuit is that they do not seem to be prepared to pay the same amount.

Sport reports that Barcelona’s latest offer is worth £46.6 million. But an agreement could now come at any time. And Raphinha could arrive in Catalonia as early as Monday.

Raphinha could arrive in Barcelona on Monday

Of course, Leeds fans have had to deal with plenty of reports claiming an agreement for Raphinha is close. But now, they will be hoping that there is some truth behind the timing.

Ultimately, it is becoming frustrating for everyone. If Barcelona had met Leeds’ asking price, this situation could have been resolved some time ago. Instead, there still seems a – albeit slim – chance that he could end up playing for Jesse Marsch’s men next season.

The fee is a worry. There will be uproar if Leeds sell Raphinha for less than £50 million considering what Chelsea are offering.

Leeds had the chance to send out a statement to many of the big clubs this summer with Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips attracting attention.

It has been a positive window ultimately. But if both players leave for below £50 million, it hardly sends out a great message for future summers when our best players are being chased.
