Report: Adams and Camara not priorities for Leeds amid Phillips links

Neither Tyler Adams or Mo Camara are viewed as priority targets by Victor Orta amid speculation linking Leeds United with the two midfielders this summer, according to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites have already bolstered their midfield ranks in this window. Marc Roca has arrived from Bayern Munich.

Leeds still have plenty of work to do in the window. And even more signings will be required if Kalvin Phillips ends up leaving. Of course, even the most optimistic supporter would struggle to say with any confidence that Phillips is going nowhere this summer.

Several names have been linked as potential replacements for Phillips. Fabrizio Romano has previously suggested that Leeds are exploring a deal for Adams.

Meanwhile, the Whites have reportedly been in contact with Camara’s agent. And obviously, Jesse Marsch knows both men from his time in the Red Bull system.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Orta is an admirer of both. However, neither player is seen as a priority – particularly while Phillips is still a Leeds player.

Much could change as the summer goes on. Leeds will simply have to replace Phillips if he goes. And deals for players such as Adams and Camara may appeal more as time goes on.

Where do Leeds go from here?

It will be interesting to see what Leeds do should Phillips move on. Certainly, many of the fans will be disappointed about the claims on Camara and Adams.

With that in mind, here are three other players we expect to see linked with Leeds in the coming months, particularly if Phillips leaves…

Josh Brownhill

Brownhill may be available at a decent price after Burnley’s relegation. He is not a fashionable player. But he would certainly bring some real fight to the Leeds midfield. It would definitely be an interesting partnership with Marc Roca.

Josh Cullen

Of course, Burnley will be managed by Vincent Kompany next year. The club he left, Anderlecht, relied a lot on Josh Cullen.

The Republic of Ireland international would often drop into the back-line as a third centre-back to get on the ball and get things going. Sounds familiar?

Boubakary Soumaré

Soumare is yet to really get going in the Premier League. And thus, Leicester are reportedly open to offers for the midfielder this summer. He is a similar player to Adams, so a deal would potentially make a lot of sense.
