Winger left Leeds in 2017, now Inter Milan and Juventus want to sign him for £21m

Alfonso Pedraza made a lasting, yet short impression on Leeds fans during a loan spell in the second half of the 2016-17 season and now, the Villarreal winger is a transfer target for both Juventus and Inter Milan, according to reports.

The 26-year-old joined Leeds in January 2017 on loan from Spanish side Villarreal. He clocked up 14 appearances for the Whites, scoring his only goal in a 3-1 win over Birmingham City. Since then, he has gone back to Spain and starred.

His time at Leeds was the second of four loan spells. But it was the last two at Alaves, and then Real Betis, that saw Pedraza finally break into Villarreal’s side. Now, he has clocked up 146 senior appearances for Unai Emery’s side.

In that time, he has scored 11 goals and laid on 18 assists. He has been converted into a left-back, having played mostly as a winger at Leeds. Just five years on from his time in Yorkshire, he could be set for an enormous move.

Pedraza made Leeds impression and now is a target for Juventus and Inter

Italian website CMW claim that both Juventus and Inter want to bring in a left-back ahead of the January window. Pedraza has cropped up on their shortlists, with the defender getting better and better under Emery’s guidance.

The report even claims that Inter and Juventus would have to pay a huge £21million to sign the Spaniard. A far cry from the £8.5million permanent clause that was inserted into his Leeds deal – if Garry Monk secured promotion.

While Leeds have gone on leaps and bounds in the five years following Pedraza’s exit, so has he. The left-back could now be playing Champions League football for one of Italy’s biggest clubs – whether that is Inter, or The Old Lady.
