Tom Pearce watched Leeds United’s excellent 3-2 win over Aston Villa from the away end – and posted on Instagram after the match.

The 20-year-old remains sidelined with a foot injury. He was spotted turning on Christmas Light in a protective boot last month.

Leeds were 2-0 down at half-time after goals from Conor Hourihane and Tammy Abraham. But in the second half, they turned the results on its head.

Jack Clarke opened Leeds’ account, before Pontus Jansson and Kemar Roofe got their names on the score sheet. Pearce posted on his Instagram story from the away end, stating he will “soon be back”.

Pearce remains a fringe player in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad, who now sit top of the Championship at Christmas. The Whites have won six straight games, and are six points ahead of third-placed West Brom.

Indeed, Barry Douglas is the club’s number-one left-back, while the impressive display of Leif Davis on Sunday may see Pearce struggle to regain his spot.
