The window drags on and the hunt for a new midfielder continues. Leeds need cover in the middle of the park, cover for Kalvin Phillips and more depth. Stuart Dallas will have to act as cover for Junior Firpo at left-back with Leif Davis, and Gjanni Alioski leaving the club this summer.
Mateusz Klich struggled with the workload last season and has been at Euro 2020 with Poland. Jamie Shackleton has been good in pre-season, but has been injured. He is also cover for Luke Ayling at right-back. Midfielders are crucial and here are three bargain options Leeds must consider.
Corentin Tolisso – £8.5million
A France World Cup winner, a Bayern Munich midfielder, 27-year-old Tolisso is on the fringes at the Bundesliga champions. He has struggled for game time since his ACL injury in 2018, and now Bayern are ready to let him go for £8.5million, as per Bild. A bargain for such a stunning player.
Ryan Christie – £5million

Christie, 26, is in a similar situation to Tolisso. In the final year of his contract with Celtic, he could be on his way down south. The Sunday People (8/8; page 57) report Southampton, Leicester and Burnley want him for just £5million. His goals and assists make him a bargain at that price.
Lucas Torreira – £17million
Slightly more expensive, Torreira is still value for money. That is because he is younger than the two other options at 25. During his two years at Arsenal he did little wrong, and won the La Liga title with Atletico last term. The Laziali state Lazio want him with Arsenal requesting just £17million.

So, bringing in one of the three bargain midfielders in Tolisso, Torreira or Christie would not only solve the need of a midfielder, but save Leeds some money to spend elsewhere. Time is running out.
