Earlier this week, claims from Italy suggested Victor Orta had flown into Sardinia to conduct a deal for Cagliari ace Nahitan Nandez. Well, it seems Orta is on a bit of European trip this week. Now, the Leeds sporting director has been spotted in Oslo – talking to goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson.
That is according to Nettavisen. Just days after Italian website Centro Trentuno said Orta was in Sardinia trying to agree a fee for Uruguay ace Nandez, he is now in Norway. Klaesson, 20, is one of the three goalkeepers that the YEP claim Leeds want to replace Kiko Casilla this summer.
Klaesson has caught the eye after clocking up 55 senior appearances for Norwegian side Valerenga already. In those games, he has kept 13 clean sheets. With Valerenga willing to do business at just £1.6million, according to Nettavisen, Leeds are keen. The report says Orta is in town.
Leeds transfer news: Orta intensifying summer work, Klaesson next
Indeed, the report says Orta was in a restaurant in Oslo alongside some Leeds emissaries, Klaesson and some of Klaesson’s advisaries. Leeds were keen on Klaesson in 2020 but now, with Casilla joining Elche, they have intensified that interest. Klaesson could be the next Leeds news, as Orta closes in.
He could be the club’s fifth summer signing. The Whites have already got a deal for Junior Firpo over the line, as the club’s marquee addition this summer. Jack Harrison, as expected, joins permanently. While Sean McGurk and Amari Miller are linking up with Mark Jackson’s Under-23 side.
