Marc Roca thinks his performance against Arsenal was one of his best

Marc Roca has told BBC Radio Leeds that his performance in Leeds United’s loss to Arsenal was possibly one of his best for the Whites, but admitted that it is hard to be too happy because of the result.

Roca has proved to be an outstanding signing for Jesse Marsch’s men. He has taken little time to form a superb partnership with Tyler Adams in the middle of the park.

Leeds look a lot stronger in midfield this season. Previously their fortunes largely depended on the fitness and form of Kalvin Phillips.

It remains to be seen how Leeds would cope should they lose either Roca or Adams. But there is absolutely no question that either would leave a big void. Certainly, many felt that Roca was the star of the show on Sunday.

The Spaniard helped Leeds largely win the midfield battle against the Premier League leaders. And when asked whether he had produced his best performance for the club, he hinted that he was extremely pleased with his contribution.

Roca performance against Arsenal was one of his best

“I thought I did a good performance. Yes, could be one of the best,” he told BBC Radio Leeds. “But the most important thing was whether we won the three points. It was not possible. And the sensation that you have when you lose a game, you can play really good, but if you don’t win the game, it’s a little bit difficult.

“But it was a good game for me.”

Roca is seemingly still building up to full match sharpness. He has actually only completed 90 minutes once so far. He has however, got past the 80 minute mark in the last two fixtures.

But it must not be forgotten that he did not get the chance to play a lot during his two years with Bayern Munich.

You would not know that from what he does on the pitch for Leeds. And it is seriously exciting to think about the quality he could provide once he is completing 90 minutes on a consistent basis.

He has, along with Adams, arguably been Leeds’ best player so far this season. And he has every right to think that his performance against Arsenal was his best yet.

Obviously, we need results to start going our way soon as we drift closer to the bottom three. But with players of Roca’s calibre in the side, there is every chance that Leeds’ fortunes will soon turn around.
